1) Let’s say you live in Seattle with an irrational fear of ordering music online–or perhaps you like to find music the old fashioned way: in a store surrounded by music fans like yourself. Well, you’ll be pleased to know that The Chroma Session EP is now available at Easy Street Records (Queen Anne location) and Sonic Boom (Ballard location)–two great local music stores that would love your patronage.

2) The band will perform at Fado this Thursday from 9 to midnight, where two new songs will make their maiden voyage:

THU, October 4th @ 9pm
Fado Irish Pub (21+/No Cover)
801 1st Ave, Seattle, WA

3) Nathan claims to be having a mid-midlife crisis; we apologize on his behalf for the missing show journals, blog entries, mailing list sign-ups, and unanswered emails. We’ve advised Nathan to take a “spa day,” or perhaps get out of town and pull himself together. It should be noted that The Doomsday Committee are not prepared to play nanny, but we wish him well.

Stay vigilant,

The Dark Pioneers would like to thank everyone who attended the CD release party at The Sunset–it was a smashing success! Special thanks to those who were able to astral-project themselves from great distances to be there in spirit–that, folks, is serious dedication…and the kind of creepy, forward-thinking mentality we applaud!

Currently, Nathan has been seen wandering the compound halls in a dirty bathrobe, talking to the walls and sporting a three-day-old beard. Once he has recovered from the weekend, he will surely post a stage-eye view of the event on his show journal page. (Then, perhaps, he’ll seek the psychiatric attention he requires.)

In the meantime, the band’s performance schedule will be light as they prepare to record a batch of songs by year’s end. They assure us that many live favorites will be represented on the upcoming album (with the curious working title: ‘My Summer With Bruce Vilanch’), but the playlist remains a secret for now. That is all.

Yours,
The Doomsday Committee

1) Yes, The Chroma Session EP is available at CD Baby and yes, it was sold out for a few days. Fear not: we’re sitting on a stockpile at the compound and have replenished our CD Baby store. However, if you have no need (nor room) for physical objects in your fox hole, The Chroma Session EP is available for <a href="http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewArtist?id=283129305" viewartist?id="283129305" target="_blank" title="NW&TDP on iTunes">download on iTunes.

2) It has come to our attention that the music of Nathan Wade & The Dark Pioneers debuted on Seattle’s KEXP Tuesday night (DJ Stevie Zoom fired the opening salvo). KEXP’s excellent programming is streaming world wide, so you can request songs from The Chroma Session EP anywhere, anytime. The band graciously asks that you take a few moments to send in your request.

3) A short clip has surfaced of the band performing live at their sold out show with Ian Moore on June 28th. Recorded evidence of Brian, Sam, and Nathan in the wild is rare, but you can see them performing a bit of “Dry Up Like A Dream”:

Welcome to the new website of Nathan Wade & The Dark Pioneers. With the upcoming release of The Chroma Session EP and the band a full-time operation, it was necessary to update and upgrade Nathan Wade’s virtual estate, lining it with lead and making room for Dark Pioneers’ Brian Alter and Sam Collins. No more bunk beds for these two–they now have their own rooms in the compound (Sam even has a window) and we’re looking to finally add doors to the stalls in the men’s bathroom.

Roam the halls as you wish. There’s music to be heard in the HYMNS collection (with more curios in the ARCANA room), as well as plenty of reading material in the ARCHIVES library and on the dusty shelves of HISTORY. Mr. Wade has even made his JOURNAL public while continuing to document the band’s TRAVELS, both past and future (note: we’re not sure how he does the latter). Please, do not forget to visit the IMAGERY wing, which boasts a gallery of sights from the band’s private collection–and yes, the refrigerator has been well stocked, as has the new bomb shelter. You can be sure the FELLOWSHIP will be invited to take cover should those sirens wail.

For the remodel, we owe a great deal of debt and gratitude to Lincoln Barr, who redesigned this site from the ground up, even trusting Mr. Wade to operate the crane and jackhammer from time to time. We would also like to thank Brian Alter, who not only brought his visual wizardry to the compound’s exteriors, but likely earned that coveted window for his dorm room. Aside from being fine gentlemen and fantastic musicians, Mr. Barr and Mr. Alter clearly have many tricks up their sleeves.

The Committee also wishes to graciously acknowledge Hostbaby for their assistance and the heavy lifting involved in relocating our virtual property. And, lastly, we would like to thank the world for not ceasing to exist before this new site came to be.

Enjoy your stay,
The Doomsday Committee
